Sick!

The entire last week is something of an uncomfortable blur as I spent four days battling with the flu (missing work without pay, of course), and now a head cold that’s threatening to seal off my airways and drown me in a pool of killer vindictive mucous. I know that even people who take care of themselves and avoid unnecessary exposure to germs get sick, but i am starting to take this personally. Why me God?!?

On a positive note it never did turn into the flu that Dave Barry so accurately describes in which, as you make the 4-million year shuffle from your bed into the bathroom, you can feel individual air molecules attacking you. No, thankfully, this was a kinder, gentler flu. The kind where for 4-million years you can’t be sure if you are hot or cold, and you frequently wake up drenched in pools of your own sweat and blood. No praying to the porcelain god for me, thanks. I was too busy praying that any god would take pity on me and just kill me.

Meanwhile, as I mentioned before getting side-tracked, I missed almost an entire week of work, and am now missing almost an entire week of school (Graduate school – miss a day, miss a week!). I know, sob sob wahh, so I’ll stop now, except to say that this whole ordeal has really made me appreciate good health, and when I get mine back I’m going to cherish it like a shiny quarter.

Now go away before I cough on you, :-?
